Review on OXO 10 Piece Airtight Storage Container by Jeff Salvino

Review: I have purchased many of these storage containers of various sizes. As with most OXO products, I was very happy with them and would buy them again. More importantly, my wife seems equally impressed with her gift. That being said, I don't think they will work as well for everyone as they have for us. They are expensive and not necessarily the best choice for a home with young children. So I'll share my observations with you and leave it up to you to decide how they fit into your personal lifestyle. Pros: They seal flawlessly and with great ease. I think this is the best product for freshness and insect protection. They fold well and their transparent sleeve makes it easy to identify what's inside. Their rounded corners make pouring easier. Available in a variety of sizes, these containers meet all of our kitchen dry storage needs. They work for everything from baked goods to cereal, crackers and bread. Yes, the two largest container sizes can hold a regular sized loaf of bread and will keep it fresh for much longer. Replenishment before purchase. Cons: First, many of them (especially the larger sizes) are poorly packaged for shipping and arrived broken. Luckily, Revain's customer service replaced them quickly and without delay. For me, the long-term convenience far outweighs the short-term frustration. Second, we didn't break any of them after delivery, but we also handle them very carefully. I'm not sure how well they will work with young children so take advice before investing. I suspect a single drop on a hard kitchen floor will damage the container, but I don't want to test my hypothesis at this price point. Third, with the exception of the silicone O-ring, they are not dishwasher safe. For us this wasn't a big problem, but it can be a problem for others. We've personally found their non-porous construction to be easy to clean, so we don't mind hand washing them. Planning Before You Buy: Remember that there are three shapes of stackable bins (viewed from above). : small square shape, large square shape and rectangular shape. While you can sometimes mix them up for styling, I generally find it best to stick to one shape (for a given batch). Also remember that you get more for your money. The connection between the price of a container and the storage volume is indirect. In short, less storage costs you more money. In general, I find the large square shape and the rectangular shape the most advantageous. They offer easy access and give the customer more choices when it comes to storage. Keep in mind that pre-packaged kits usually come with lots of small square containers. The smallest sizes have limited functionality but can be useful for storing raisins, small candies, etc. As for the spices mentioned by the manufacturer, the spices usually come in a bottle. For those that don't, I believe there are better (and cheaper) products out there. the best product on the market. With due care, you will save money in the long term, because: They keep food fresh, protect against vermin and make it easy to buy too much or too little food. This is a quality product and they make the kitchen great. Whether you intend to buy a lot or just a few, I generally recommend the larger sizes. They offer the best bang for your buck and offer more flexibility. In particular, I'd start with a few large squares to see if you like them as much as I do. Thanks to those who wrote before me.
