I bought this to convert my old S-Video outputs to HDMI, mainly because my new TV and A/V Receiver doesn't support S-Video have connections. Since this product only converts for one device, I used an S-Video multi-input selector that I already had on hand. This product does a good job of converting S-Video to HDMI. This does not noticeably increase or improve the image quality, but it does not degrade it either. My reason for giving 3 stars is the high price compared to the basic function it performs and the fact that this unit does not have RCA audio input jacks, only a 3.5mm headphone jack. This might be good for gamers, but not for those who want to convert audio/video devices. There are much cheaper S-Video to HDMI converters that include RCA style audio input jacks, but I bought this one on a third party recommendation before I found out. I managed to get around this problem by hooking up the RCA audio inputs to my new A/V receiver and mapping them to this unit's HDMI input, but not everyone will necessarily have that option. In general the product works well. However, it would be much better if more audio inputs were enabled so audio and video could work together on the HDMI output.
