Design elements won't stick to clothes and glue is difficult to push out for a child

I was so excited to discover this product for my granddaughter's 6th birthday. She LOVES Barbie. Today we sat down to "design" and decorate clothes only to find that most of the stickers wouldn't stick to clothes and none of the heavier items like bows, plastic flowers and fabric flowers would stick even after being weighed down, until they were dry. The only thing that stuck well was the various "finishing pieces" and that's only because they had a thick strip of adhesive on them that you just had to measure lengthwise and peel the paper off the sticky surface before gluing. When my granddaughter finished her first dress she put it on her uniform and it didn't last long so I gave it a try. If you are very careful and gently place the mold on a hard surface, it will stand, but due to its light weight it will wobble. My granddaughter couldn't set it up by herself. While she was looking forward to working on this craft project and we were having fun, I was VERY disappointed that it wasn't possible to actually make my granddaughter's projects as 95% of the items would not stick to the clothes. While the dresses are cute, $22 for 5 outfits is an oddity if they can't really be embellished without the embellishments falling off within minutes and sometimes seconds. Why not provide some decent tubed glue that kids can actually squeeze? And it would be great if the company made sure the equipment could actually be used before the kit went on sale.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • So far so good
