Inexpensive and a must have for chlorinated/hard water

Received on July 19th 2020 and installed immediately. Due to our very hard water, we needed something to keep our hair, skin and health in good condition. Since we rent, it's not worth putting in a common house filter, but we needed something. Even with the expensive shampoos and conditioners my wife buys, our hair always feels like straw. It is very fragile and breaks easily. You can definitely say that it filters at least some of the chlorine. Our city water uses chlorine and sometimes they "flush the system" with chloramine. We can definitely tell the difference in our hair and on our skin. I used my usual amount of shampoo (I have relatively short hair) and it created so much lather that I am now using about half the amount as usual. Still get great foam. The same goes for soap and other things. It foams better than without a filter. I combined this filter with an inline filter (Torti Lia 15 stage shower filter with vitamin C for hard water). I also bought 2 extra filters for it. I didn't test the water before and after installing the filter, but in my opinion any filter is better than none. I no longer smell chlorine in the shower and my skin is much softer. Now I use a lot less lotion after showering. My hair is less brittle and much softer. In the comments people are talking about removing the flow restrictor. I tried it with the flow restrictor installed and it still has good pressure so I leave it in place. There is basically no loss of water pressure. When installing, make sure to use the included rubber gasket to seal against water leaks. A lot of people talk about a lot of Teflon tape. That is unnecessary. Yes, use teflon tape to seal, but make sure you tighten the shower head to seat on the rubber gasket, don't use the tape just as a sealant. The fit is very tight. In fact, I had to use a wrench to tighten it on the outlet of the built-in filter I installed with this shower head. Measure how deep it needs to go before installing it so you know how tight it needs to be on the threads. It's plastic, be careful. For around $15 you can't go wrong. Even if it only filters a little, it's still better than nothing! Being 6ft 2in I have to crouch when flushing because both filters together lower the shower head to about head height. never mind I find it a small price to pay for clean water on my skin, your body's largest organ, so take good care of it. My wife is 5ft 5in so she is not affected in any way. Pros: - No water pressure loss - Easy to install - Very inexpensive - Essential for chlorinated or hard water - Easy filter replacement Cons: - Can be difficult to tighten due to very tight thread tolerances - Housing is plastic and can break when handled by hand - Supplied with only 1 filter. Be sure to follow the directions and run the water for a few minutes to remove the charcoal dust. I'm not a robot, I don't get paid to write reviews and I didn't receive this as part of a promotion. Hope this helps some of you!
