I have used metal dustpans for many years and prefer them to plastic for their strength and ease of hygiene. One of my biggest criticisms of my previous metal scoops is that they can clog with wet litter, making it difficult to sift through used litter without stopping, clean the scoop, dry the scoop, and get back to my human duty of cleaning. according to my cat commands. I decided to try this quick sieve scoop to see if thinner wires would be an improvement - it's definitely an improvement. I can get my tasks done much quicker with the tray than with an old metal spatula. I also don't have to add new bedding as often as I used to, and I've noticed a reduction in the amount of dust that "kicks up" during cleaning. I plan to buy a few more of these litter scoops for multiple rooms in my house (I have lots and lots of litter boxes). There are three things I dislike about this shovel: The handle is a bit awkward to hold. Yes, there is foam for the grip, but the foam is relatively thin and doesn't offer much comfort. Doing this with a wooden handle or a hard plastic handle would be a great idea. I'm sure I'll find a DIY "fix" for the pen over time, but I'd like to point out that the foam is of little help. Second, because of the thin shafts and large clearances, these scoops are not great for picking up cat poo or smaller "waste" feces. I still have to go back to my original shovel to get rid of all the little bits. It actually only takes a few seconds and doesn't matter. The last thing I don't like is that I have trouble getting to the corners and crevices of the tray. I don't know why, but the quick sift bucket doesn't work as well as my original. It's also difficult to scoop up the crevices of round or oval litter boxes. Overall I am very happy with the Fast Sifting Scoop, the cons definitely outweigh the pros and I will continue to recommend this scoop
