Something good, something bad

I love the simple look of this lamp. Since I have cats, especially ones who love everything in a row, I needed a lamp that my cat wouldn't want to destroy right away and that wouldn't take up much space on my bedside table. The Touch Night Light table lamp meets all requirements. I like that it doesn't get too bright. It looks like a really powerful night light rather than a floor lamp. However, there are several problems with this. All buttons are touch sensitive. I didn't think it would be a problem until I tried using it while half asleep. Foggy Brain doesn't remember the instruction manual and ends up turning on different colors, turning on a timer, etc. Foggy Brain doesn't really like changing colors at 2am when he just wants to go to the bathroom. My SO didn't think the light show was that great back then either. I also liked the idea of charging ports. Unfortunately, these ports drain the battery instead of charging it. I bought two of these lamps and tried each USB port and the phones died every time when plugged into the Touch Night Light desk lamp. I've tried turning the lights on and off, same result. Basically, I like the lamp. Would I buy it again, probably not. I'll look for a similar lamp with a simple on/off touch button that might dim the light and that's it. It would be nice to have a charger, but that's not a problem.
