Update 12/31/19: Unfortunately, these shoes failed irreparably where the upper meets the sole on the ball of the foot. An absolute revelation, my boy used them every day at school and they didn't shy away from academic humiliation. Also, boys feet are growing and that can't help with wear but I've had other brands that seem to do a better job even with a growing foot.
