Review on Casio G Shock Anti Magnetic Khaki GA100L 8A by Renee Cook

A workhorse watch with some notable cons

I've been wearing this watch almost every day for the past 3 years. During that time I've taken it everywhere, from the bottom of the lake to the top of the mountains, and it still performs just as it did the day I took it out of the box. So when it comes to durability, you couldn't ask for a better watch. It looks really great too, it's chunky enough to look neat but not big enough to be gross, and the neutral brown color means it goes with almost any outfit. Additionally, these watches are extremely inexpensive for the utility they offer. Just $80 for a watch that can be thrown off a cliff is pretty expensive. However, this watch has some pretty notable flaws. First, the light on it isn't indigo, it's literally a small orange light that barely illuminates the hands of the watch. You can't see the digital display AT ALL in the dark, which can be quite frustrating. Also, there are days when the clock hands completely cover the digital display and you only have to wait 15 minutes for the hands to disappear. After all, you basically need an instruction manual to understand how to use the watch. The buttons all have multiple functions depending on what mode you're in, and after three years of ownership I'm still not sure I know what they all do. Bottom line: if you want an affordable watch that just won't break, you're a patient person and don't mind reading a little, this is the watch for you. However, if you're willing to spend a little more money, Casio has definitely made a better watch.
