The remote control is made of soft plastic. It has a screw cap for the battery cover, with the quarter typically used as a screwdriver to unscrew it from the device. This is problematic at best. A quarter tears through the soft plastic, and after a few uses, the slot is so clogged you can't remove the connector. This remote connector is worse because the plastic is very soft and breaks very easily. In addition, this stopper is very tight right out of the box. A quarter have not started to do their jobs. I even tried using a screwdriver. Will not work. I tried a drill tool, figured I could get a better grip on the cork with a tool. No! A Bose speaker is useless without a remote control. There are no controls on the speaker. You have to use the remote control to change the volume and turn it on and off, so the view of the Bose speaker is also 1*.
