I bought this table for my almost 2 year old for Christmas and it's just perfect! The first thing I felt when I opened the box was a wonderfully woody smell. It took some time to assemble but I saw that this table was made of very high quality real wood (no chipboard) and was strong and durable once assembled. My son loves this. The chair is too high for him, his feet don't touch the floor when he is fully seated in the chair, but it doesn't bother him. And I like that he can grow into it. His older brother (4 years old) fits in great and I see that's a kindergarten homework table and even longer. There's plenty of storage space under the lid, and I took a reviewer's advice and ordered clear plastic makeup cases for the top bar for all of his crayons. Opening the lid does not affect the containers and contents on the top edge. My son had already scribbled everything with colored pencils, but they rubbed off easily and didn't damage the surface. It appears to be covered in a protective glaze or something to protect it from dings and dings. Seems to last a long time. I highly recommend this desk.
