This cable just broke my hard drive! Over 20 years of my digital life are over in no time! The latch on the connector was misaligned and when I tried to connect it to my drive it wouldn't latch. I checked the head, adjusted the clamp and tried again. Again it didn't close, but it felt different, loose and wobbly. I checked it again and found that it had pulled out the plastic sleeve covering the contacts. My guess is that when I first tried splicing it the clip was so misaligned that it snapped the shell and broke it. WHAT NOW? If you get a replacement or refund for this cable, you won't get the $200 drive back, let alone any of my data!
