Nice and ok for the price

This cat tree is good value for money, although not the most durable tree I've seen. Although very nice. For the record, I'm a cat mom with over 30 years of experience with cats. I currently have five ranging in age from one to fourteen. I have several old, slightly worn trees that have accompanied me for fifteen years. The main thing to note about this tree compared to some of the more expensive ones is that all of the green space is covered in a fairly thin, felt-like material. Stronger trees would use rugs on them, which in my experience lasts a lot longer. For example, the shelter (below right in the picture) is a flexible cover that covers the wooden parts. The walls are not solid. My two younger cats (brothers) love it because you can slide the fabric from the inside and his brother can play with it from the outside. It took about three days for a small hole to form in it. Also, some poles are covered with scraping ropes and others are covered with fabric. My cats love the rope but they sometimes scratch others and one has broken a bit. As for assembly: it was pretty easy and took about an hour with one person. An assistant could speed it up. When unpacking and first taking inventory, note that there is no material in the round piece of wood for the top of the shelter. The situation is similar with the named piece. They look different although a quantity of 2 is shown and I was a little confused at first thinking I was missing a piece. One more note about the final assembly of the base: it will be folded in half and fabric attached to it. There is a top assembly with two posts that lock it in place. When I first installed the top knot before screwing it in it looked a little wobbly and I was wondering if a hole had been drilled. I just bent it and started tightening the screw and it straightened out. A good thing is that the tops of the tulips, which are soft beds, are stretched on a piece of log so they can be washed. Overall I like it but I expect it will really be surpassed in five years with my team.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
