It has a very thick O-ring around the base and battery case that prevents the batteries and electronics from getting wet when you use it in the rain or snow. The light it emits isn't very bright, but I think it may be due to regulations in the United States. In the video I uploaded you can see it in action in a completely dark garage, sitting on the trunk of my car.
