They are really well made and I love the canvas like fabric. The backs are all white which makes it easy to mix them up (back side out) if you don't like some of the patterns (I don't like some as they are too hard). These pillowcases mimic a "modern/African" design but are prints on cotton so they are too bold and graphic and the white background is too harsh so they "pop out" too much. I think after a few washes they can be muted enough to become more subtle and pleasing to the eye. The brown is not registered as "faux leather" at all - it's just plastic and I won't be using it. I ordered this combo for two or three which I really liked in the picture - and still do (the one with painted elements). If they weren't available as a set but to choose from, I would order more. You definitely have good value for money. Size: I have used several different sized pillows including an Ikea 20 x 20 inch and all have worked well. They work best with a softer, more pliable pad.
