will you respect me in the morning NO!

This is a beautiful duvet that makes my new bedroom look really spectacular. The duvet is very light but keeps you warm. i love colors BUT. there are several problems. First, its length on each side is not enough to cover the edges of the mattress. I bought the queen size. I had a hunch this would happen, but I also knew that if I bought a king size, the pillow pads would be too big. Second, the pads on the pillows are SQUARE. All the pillows I've seen are square so they don't fit right. I had to fold the bottom over and pin so it was a snug fit. Now to the main problem. I appreciate the fact that the duvet cover opens, but you have to do it slowly or the zipper will get stuck in the fabric) so you can wash the cover and not the insides. But this causes the inner lining to slip again and again. I have a bit of OCD, so a quilt that's filled unevenly from corner to corner drives me nuts! But overall the set is so pretty I would still buy it again and just clip it on for a more customized fit. Too bad the manufacturer didn't do that for you before you bought it. I mean the price is a bit high so I expect it to be a better fit than it actually does. UPDATE: Having used this bedspread for a couple of months, I have to say that while it's nice that you can remove the outer layer for washing, the inner lining slips everywhere! I constantly struggle to keep it in place because of the bunching of the bottom edge on one side and the lack of padding on the other side. Don't look for more trouble, although it's nice. It kinda reminds me of a low maintenance blonde. Beautiful to look at, but expensive to maintain, and then I have nothing interesting to say. UPDATE: After using this blanket for a few months I have to say that the lining keeps slipping into the cover. Sometimes it's actually a mess inside when we wake up after a restless night. Very annoying and difficult to put back on. I've tried the safety pins but they don't hold it in place and tend to pop open which is a safety hazard. The only way to use this set without getting irritated would be to take it off before bed and very carefully hang it over the stand. But if you wanted to use it for warmth or don't have a coaster (like me) you'll be sorry in the morning. It's a shame as it's a beautiful set.
