I was looking for a queen size cotton comforter and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I started looking for the national chain of bed and bath stores and was very surprised at the prices. Then I came to Revain and found several options in the $20-$30 price range. I saved my choice to make a decision later. As I reconsidered my choice, this comforter dropped in price. The reviews for this comforter compared favorably to my other choices, so I made my purchasing decision based on the reviews and the price. I read in a review that cotton blankets imported from Asia are often treated with formaldehyde to prevent mold and mildew. during storage and should be washed before use. Because of this warning, the first thing I did when I received the comforter was to machine wash and dry it (HE detergent, cold water, longest wash, extra rinse, tumble dry gently to avoid TOO MUCH shrinkage ). At the end of the wash, there was still some lint in the washing machine and the lint filter in the dryer was full when the duvet finished drying. I didn't really inspect the duvet before washing, just noticed that it seems quite heavy. what it was for and there was no obvious smell. It wasn't until I took the blanket out of the dryer that I really looked at it. It washes well, the color is even, the weave is even and without streaks, pleasant to the touch. I was so pleased that I ordered a second bed in a different size and color for an additional bed.
