This is the fourth beard balm I've tried and will be using all the time. I have real Viking blood mixed with Saxon blood. This gave me a blond now graying beard that is almost unmanageable, unruly, frizzy, curly and riddled with swirls. It can also turn into a greasy, matted mess if I'm not careful. This is the first beard balm I've tried that really has it under control. And I don't look like I've been smeared with Crisco. Hurricanes were my biggest problem and they almost disappeared. I've tried all combinations, applied wet or dry, with or without beard oil, and this works for me: I use it after the shower while my beard is still a bit damp. I take my little ball, add three drops of beard oil and mix it between my palms. Then I rub it in and comb it through. Moisture and oil will help distribute it evenly. I let it sit for a bit while I do other things, then comb it out a bit with a blow dryer on low air and low heat. This step will allow you to control the swirls leaving only a small ripple and this is normal. It will look a bit oily at first, but it will go away after an hour. Then clean again and I'm good to go. What some of us have to go through to wear these things. I can skip a day or two between washes and just need a touch up. He even looks good in the morning right out of bed. I'm happy to give five stars.
