This solved the problem of my cat scratching the wood of the doorposts in the house. He has had other scratching posts but it looks like he needed a bigger scratching post to reach/reach when scratching. I attached this to the outside of the wardrobe door on the level where he scratched the door frame and he figured it out in minutes. I didn't think he would be interested in the little wire toy attached to the top, but he found it interesting for a few days (he gets bored quickly). I find any cat will love it and the bracket is strong enough to withstand a big strong cat pulling on it. Cardboard will tear and peel on the floor, but my cat prefers cardboard over carpet scratches because her claws won't catch on cardboard. I'd rather vacuum these pieces of cardboard than sand down and repaint door frames!
