Review on Sennheiser HD 2.30G Black Ear Headphones - Discontinued Model by Jerry Estrada

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Another Sennheiser hit.

I've always believed that Sennheiser makes the best headphones for the money and this pair continues to live up to that opinion. They sound great and actually compete with my much larger (and more expensive) Sennheiser HD 280 Pro HD 280s headphones. HD-280) they still offer good sound insulation. They fit perfectly in your ear with foam padding. As someone who isn't a fan of full noise-cancelling headphones, I prefer this type of noise-cancelling, but it reduces your ability to hear the outside world, so it might not be the best choice for those running or cycling. The earbuds have a detachable cable that connects to the right earbud, with a built-in 3-button remote control. Two buttons control the volume, while the third (middle) button acts as a smart button. A single press pauses music, a double press skips songs, and a long press activates Siri. This is also where the microphone is located and it seems that he can hear me without any problems. I got these as an upgrade to a lightweight Sennheiser PX 100 foldable PX-100 headphones (discontinued by the manufacturer) I bought in 2009 and they still work. The HD2.30i is a significant improvement in sound quality and much better isolation performance. These headphones fold and come with a cloth case, but they take up more space than the smaller and thinner PX-100 headphones for those who really want something that folds as little as possible. I can't comment on the durability as I just received it. But given Sennheiser's track record, which is exceptional to me, I hope they will last for many years to come. If they don't and break too quickly I will update the rating to reflect that.
