Review on PortaPow USB Data Blocker (Black) - Secure Against Juice Jacking Safely by Dave Hammon

It's nice to see a product that does exactly what it's supposed to do. I ordered this primarily to get faster charging speeds from the USB ports on my computer or car. Yes I have real QC fast chargers but it's nice to have an alternative. Second, I like the idea of blocking data transfer. This comes in handy when traveling or connecting to unfamiliar USB ports. I was able to confirm that this blocks data because when I plugged my phone into a USB port on my laptop with this adapter, my laptop didn't realize it was plugged in, but the phone charged. As for loading speed. , I connected it to one of my laptop's USB ports and then connected it to my Galaxy S8+. Using a battery monitoring program, you can see in the attached screenshot that I got a net charge rate of 900mAh. This was with the screen on, so with the screen off it would be faster and definitely faster than the 500mAh you typically see from a USB port. Edit: I will downgrade this to 4 stars. I plugged it into a car USB port and the output failed to sustain a charge, let alone charge the battery while navigating my phone. Instead, I had to switch to a fast charge adapter.
