The product is a paper-thin plastic case with a thin top and a tight silicone case. If you can break a product without even trying to use it for the sole purpose of existence, it's probably an inferior product. The instructions for "opening" the case are tiny and hard to read, but I did see "carefully remove the cover with your fingers". The pull-out part is the top part of the plastic case. When I used my fingers to pry open the two retaining clips on each side of the case, the top broke off at one of the clip connections. There are better cases that don't break trying to put them on.
