I first bought this for overland travel with our 20 month old son. It was a lifesaver for both of us! The strap allowed me to hang it on the seat so it could watch movies while we did long drives. It has stayed on the iPad ever since. My son dropped the iPad, stood on it and spilled water on it and this case held up. It's made of soft silicone with handles that are easy for my son to pick up and hold. The kickstand on the back is a pretty handy feature that I use to read recipes on my iPad. I also like that it comes with a glass cover. I didn't need it because I already had it on my iPad when I bought it, but given the abuse it's been subjected to over the past few months, it's nice to have a backup.
