The brushes are fine - pay attention to the weight of the Makita.
I think they did well. It seemed to remove scale, but it took many passes to get that shiny look - and my shower has never really been "dirty," so I was mainly hoping to get rid of the dull scale from our mineral-rich well water. These brushes worked well - the weight of the Makita you put them on was fine initially, but after 5 minutes it got heavy. I spent about an hour using different cleaning products and finally a bleach bath. The shower looks much better but still not perfect. And my hands hurt...
