I installed a 2006 56 inch Samsung 6t series with this mount and it works. This is a heavy TV by today's standards. The brackets from the bottom panel to the TV's mounting holes are relatively flimsy. They are very thin for their work. I expect them to collapse, but so far they're holding out. When I touch the TV, it shakes and shakes. Definitely not a strong solid mount. I used screws to attach to the wall. I added a safety cable to hook the TV in case the brackets fail. I haven't had any problems so I hope I'm just being too cautious. The top of the TV is slightly tilted down. If it weren't mounted so high I would return it, but it has a good viewing angle. I extended it to one side. He put the TV exactly where I wanted it.
