I was traveling in Mexico. I was in the Yucatan region (Campeche) and traveled through the Mayan ruins. The weather is very muggy and hot. I bought this long sleeve fishing shirt to climb Mesoamerican pyramids in high humidity conditions. The fit of the shirt was perfect for me. (NOTE: I kept the MEDIUM shirt, I returned the small one). I had plenty of space and it was well ventilated. The sleeve length was perfect and there was plenty of room in the stomach area. Although it was very warm and humid I opted for a long sleeve shirt to keep the sun exposure to a minimum. I noticed that most of the local men also wore long-sleeved shirts and long trousers. Most tourists wore short-sleeved shirts and shorts. I spoke to some tourists (from the USA, England, the Netherlands and Germany). I was surprised to find that many fair skinned Northern European Caucasians do not have a problem with sun exposure. They seemed very comfortable in a short-sleeved shirt and pair of shorts. I think the problem isn't the sun, it's the humidity that makes you sweat and saps your energy. This shirt also had plenty of handy pockets that helped me keep my photography accessories close at hand.
