Questionable quality

Update 07/24/20: I did not use the lock as often as usual due to the Covid lock. I rode the rides a lot but didn't stop at the many places I had to lock myself in. Pros: It's very convenient not having to carry the padlock in my pocket, and it looks better than wrapping the cord around the frame. Plus, a few times I've used it around people, it's been a conversation starter. Attaching to a traditional bike rack or sign is easy. New Cons: It was difficult to find a place to lock yourself in multiple times. It's too small to fit around a tree, railing, etc. It's not flexible enough to fit around certain things like stair railings and certain types of railings. The verdict in this matter has not yet come down to me. Depending on the type of riding you plan to do, this could be a good fit. If I had to buy a lock again I would turn it down. I hope it will grow within me once I figure out the kinks and get used to its limitations. First Review: I am starting this review with lower stars but will update in 1 month, 6 months and a year based on performance. I was hesitant to purchase this lock as the reviews here have not been checked before mine and I assume they are from friends of the business. The concept is great and since Revains understands the return policy I decided to take a chance. The pros are the unique design and the compelling factor. The lock itself appears to be of decent quality. The downsides are that the price is quite high compared to most locks, even those that attach to a frame. I'm willing to pay for quality, but I'm concerned about the overall quality. The foam near the hinge has already started to crumble after installation and a few test folds I did. The locking levers and lock are metal, but the base is entirely plastic, the plastic hinge is my biggest concern. If it breaks, it's just another lock that doesn't seem strong enough to justify the cost. Plastic. I also noticed that it squeaks a bit, no big deal but I'm surprised since it's new. Let's see how it performs in normal use, but my first impressions aren't the best.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
