Stylish and Immersive Lenses

readers that would allow the screens of PDAs and my laptop to be more immersive in my gaze. Smaller bifocal lenses don't offer full immersion on large screens. These glasses come with a soft case, an embossed microfiber cloth and a blue color tester. I tried following the instructions to test the blue light blocking but couldn't see any difference between my polycarbonate prescription lenses and these readers. My daughter has blue goggles for computer work; She says the test shows some ability of her blue light blockers to block blue light. Whether or not these ATTCL readers block blue light is really trivial to me. I did a little research and found that there isn't enough research to determine if blue light blocking is helpful or advisable. The Cleveland Clinic simply recommended reducing eye strain, using moisturizing drops for dry eyes, and not using any viewing devices an hour before bedtime. The clinic also suggests this 20/20 method to avoid eye strain and fatigue: Focus on an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. Remember that your eyes are focused and work harder on close objects; less stress at 20 feet. For active kids and adults outdoors, polycarbonate lenses are recommended; Cover is not required. IMO, polycarbonate is probably enough for readers; At least until more is known about the effectiveness of blue light blockers, don't spend a lot of money on blue light blockers.
