One of the zippers on my pillowcase broke and I ordered a new one to have one that didn't start fading right away. This one seems to fit the bill for this requirement. The color is rich, dark blue, didn't shed at all... only two washes, but the latter faded to a matte color after one wash, so better. And very soft... at least 500 threads; I think you can't go wrong with that. My only "complaint" is that the zipper is about 6 inches from the bottom (top?). That's where my foot goes on the bottom (I think that's really funny from above). However, it's really noticeable at first and I figured it would get in the way and make it difficult to fall asleep (I get a lot of aches and pains...kinda like the princess and the pea when I'm falling asleep). But after a few minutes I didn't feel it anymore, so it just bothers me for a while... still I don't know why they couldn't just put it on their butts like the others. Otherwise I like it. Can't comment on durability as I've only had enough time to wash it twice. So if it fades etc I will update it... or if it takes too long I will update it too!
