We have a cat that howls until we let her outside every now and then but every time we do we have to her keep a close eye on her and make sure she stays confined to our (unfenced) backyard. We decided that we would try to be a little more subtle about it. If your cat isn't wearing a collar, it may be difficult to put it on for the first time. Our Cheddar cat is a bit cheeky so we put a lot of effort into her. This is a very normal sized cat (14lbs) so it suits her very well. To our surprise, she's now actually ready to wear it, if that means she can go out occasionally. This is enough to give her plenty of time to explore our garden and most of the time we check on her she is just lying stretched out on our patio sunbathing. Without a leash and harness, who knows where she might end up? Highly recommended.
