Gels will always be lighter, so I used all four.
I was designing the lighting for a small theater so I used a few different light gels. We had a 13 inch solar tube installed in our office which certainly made it brighter but it was too harsh as fluorescent light so I used all four parts of the orange filter to warm it up a bit and it worked.
