Review on 🏍️ Yamaha Grizzly 600 & Big Bear Kodiak 400 Gas Tank Fuel Gauge Meter by Christopher Karamba

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Down with the old, meet the new!

I bought an old Yamaha Grizzly 600 from a friend. Based on its age and my lack of knowledge of Yamaha ATVs, I assumed it didn't have a fuel gauge. I pressed the "brown button" above the gas cap several times and nothing happened. (See image) I checked online and found that the "brown button" was actually a fuel gauge, all weathered. Luckily I found a replacement for Revain. It's a nice upgrade at a reasonable price. It installed in about 10 minutes and 8 of those minutes were spent removing the old sensor. Four stars. No five stars because (1) it's not very accurate. When I first installed the new gauge it said "Empty" even though I had just added two gallons to the tank. I thought it was probably defective. But when I put gas in, the arrow crawled up. I've finally arrived at Full. So empty isn't really empty. Not even close, and (2) the new little rubber grommet behind the metal ring is NOT included with this purchase. When removing the new sensor, I almost destroyed the old rubber ring. Then I checked, and no - I don't have any other. So be very careful when removing the old pressure gauge. You need a rubber ring. But for what it is, it serves its purpose. I would recommend it - just accept its shortcomings. Drive safe friends.
