Using the woodworking apron

I've only used the apron a couple of times as I've only had it for a couple of days. I use it as a garage lumberjack. My first impression was that this is a very good apron. The quality is excellent. I was concerned that it might be too heavy and sealed, too hot to use in my hot southern garage for long periods of time. Do not worry. I wore it for over an hour with no problems. The breast pocket is great for storing two 6 inch rulers, a small brass caliper and three pencils. It could fit more. I used it today while making a soft pencil for my grandson. This included measuring, cutting and moving boards around the shop. I also used a set of character templates to channel his name. This is where I encountered the only real problem with this apron. Routers throw out a lot of dust. It turns out that the lower front pockets are good dust collectors. However, the rest of the apron was great at repelling dust and keeping my clothes clean. If I could ask for a few changes to make it perfect for carpenters, this would be it; 1. There are two or three pen holders near the breast pocket. 2. It would be very nice to have an adjustable quick release buckle on the laces of the apron. 3. Add flaps for lower front pockets to keep dust out. They should not be Velcro or buttons. The hand pockets seemed fine. In the end, I'm glad I made this purchase. I highly recommend it. If the company came out with another one with the above changes, I would be very happy to buy it again. By the way I would give this one a 5 plus if it had changes 1 and 3. I added my ring and carabiner for quick connection.

Pros
  • Spacious tool pockets. Our tool apron has a breast pocket for pens and cell phone. This workshop apron features double loops and a kangaroo pocket for storing tools like a carpenter's square.
