Review on πŸ”Š Pyle PDS341 High-Performance 1.35-Inch Titanium Horn Driver 8 Ohm 13/8-Inch x 18 TPI, BLACK by George Bridgewater

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost 5 stars - good for musical instruments

The only reason I didn't give this item 5 stars is that it doesn't produce a totally clear sound when receiving. But for some musical instrument power amplifiers (my case actually) it's excellent, especially for organ sounds. For the piano it didn't work 100% sonically (in its range) but ok, there was some pizzazz, especially for the attacking part of the sound. I haven't tried it with Fender Rhodes sounds, maybe it's something special for him. BTW it does support some overdrive distortion for dark purple Hammond sounds, it seems pretty strong. I use it in the mini leslie box project. As protection I only use 2 non-polar capacitors (in series) of 47 uF each. Independent amplifier (the woofer isn't connected to the same amplifier as the horn, although tests were done on the piano where it was connected together with the bass speaker - in parallel - when I didn't have a secondary amplifier). Should I try a 16 ohm compression driver? Leave a comment (lucianoreis@yahoo.com). Thank you for reading.
