I first encountered "matte" moisturizers when I bought Lab Series' All In One Face Treatment Moisturizer. I have really oily skin and it was very effective in reducing it so I was curious what else was out there (especially since the lab series is quite expensive). When I found this Beau Brummell moisturizer I was super excited because of all the great reviews, but I have to say I'm not impressed. I've been using it for a few days and this is my experience: 1. It doesn't "matte" my skin - my face still gets very oily at the end of the day.2. It doesn't feel moisturizing - when I apply it feels like it's just sitting on my skin and not getting absorbed. For me, these are the two most important aspects of a moisturizer. I will say it's a nice subtle charcoal smell and you get a lot for what you pay but it only matters if it works for you. Unfortunately this is not for me.
