Review on ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Black Small Aluminum Frames for Eyeglasses by Brian Cox

Smooth, light and durable. works for me

I've been using this cover for about a week. I wanted a glasses case that was smaller and lighter than the black hard clamshell case my glasses came in. but other than that it fills the bill well. It's an ounce lighter than my hard cases (a top loader is even lighter than an ounce). I measured my glasses before ordering; I figured another case from the same company made entirely of polished aluminum would probably be too small. My glasses even fit into this case in the supplied microfiber pouch; without a cover they seem to rattle. I like the look too, although the bottom half is all black as someone pointed out - part of the design's visual appeal - but the case can still disappear if you drop it in your car or under a restaurant table. like what I'm known for. I'm hesitant to use my usual solution - bright reflective stickers - because they ruin the look, but I reserve the right to make a choice. They might as well stop there. I'll see how durable it is, but I haven't had any of the issues that several people have reported as indicating very poor workmanship or design. The lid is about 64 inches flush with the base when closed, which I wouldn't notice unless I look closely, and there are a few tiny spots where the aluminum shows through the black finish to the rim for a seam, but you have to search here too. A small protrusion created by a magnet under the lining is in the center front where the goggles don't touch it. And the lining itself is firmly attached to the inside. It's as soft as any eyeglass case liner I've ever seen and is far less likely to detach from the outer case than the rigidly molded clamshell case liners I have. Also, the spring-loaded hinges of hard-side suitcases, which rely on tension to keep the suitcase closed, tend to break after a certain amount of use, leaving you unable to keep the suitcase closed. Since I wear separate glasses for close-up and distance photography, I open and close my glasses case quite often. Hopefully this design, which uses a magnet to keep it closed and a simpler non-spring hinge, will last longer. The case also opens and closes quietly and doesn't rattle like regular clamshell phones unless restrained. One reviewer reported that the case at the bottom of the backpack was bent. I can't solve this problem; I can see how it will yield to the pressure and impact of heavy, irregular objects and can probably be twisted and damaged with little effort. I wouldn't recommend it for that kind of heavy use, but I have a feeling it will hold up well to the rigors of everyday use, if not abuse. I will update my review if I have any issues with it.
