If you have a sick cat then *see* why she has to forage for food and throw up less , such a test. Apparently, many cats are allergic to chicken (who would have thought?), so finding a chicken and grain free cat food that doesn't smell like roadkill can be a challenge. This one is expensive, like all other quality brands that don't offer grain or chicken. The benefits we've seen are that it doesn't (to me at least) smell as awful as many others we've tried. It smells funny now, but only when I'm around, cleaning up or filling up the food bowl around it. I've had other brands that kill you with a foul smell as soon as you enter a room that has a bowl of food in it - luckily not this one. She has the necessary grain freedom and all other criteria that we should look for in Miss Blue. Luckily, three other girls love it too. So, 4 cats, everyone likes it, the vomiting cat vomits less - this is my victory! Even if it's more than $, it's not much more than other brands of similar quality.
