Very nice and practical bag. It's medium in size (11 x 12 inches) but only 2 inches thick so it lies relatively flat against the body. It is thickly padded and has a certain weight even when empty. It's roomy enough to fit all my essentials and plenty of pockets to keep things organized. There is a small padded slip pocket on the back panel that fits my phone perfectly. There are two layered zippered pockets (also padded) on the front. The zip on the large bag extends a short distance down the sides of the bag to allow easy access to contents. The main compartment has a zip closure and inside the bag there is a zipped pocket and two slip pockets. All zips are off Nylon with metal heads and instead of a metal pull + extender the ties work on my other Vera Bradley bags, the zips on the outside pocket and main compartment have a webbing pull attached to the head of the zip with a plastic ring which is a bit flimsy Recycled cotton is soft and smooth but very durable and the bag is very well made with neat stitching and nice finishes. I ordered Desert Flower Pink, which is more of a light tangerine shade - very summery and pretty, but although it's washable I'm a little concerned it will get dirty. I intend to treat it with Scotchguard prior to application. Inside the bag is lined with cotton with a beautiful floral print. I don't particularly like the shoulder strap - it's quite narrow and more suitable for a small bag. It consists of slightly darker tangerine webbing and is firmly sewn to the bag body. The strap is adjustable and can be used as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag. It can also be detached to carry the bag around your waist. The hardware is lightweight plastic (slider and latch) rather than metal. Like the zip I find the strap looks a bit cheap compared to the rest of the bag which is so well designed. Overall this is a solid, well made bag and the pretty colors and prints make it a pleasure to carry. The current price of $85 makes this purchase quite expensive, but the bag is versatile and perfect for travel.
