After doing some research I found out that the difference between universal lightbulbs and regular lightbulbs is that some universal lightbulbs don't break if you hit them. All lightbulbs can withstand oven temperatures because glass has a ridiculously high melting point that your oven can't match. That being said, Whirlpool decided to place this odd little lightbulb right in the center of the stove roof. A normal general purpose lightbulb was much larger and protruded A LOT from where you could hit it if you weren't careful. These little kids take up less space than the original weird little lightbulb, and they're little spotlights and have durable glass. Perfect for my needs.
