For the money this item is amazing. For a few bucks you can get a fleece hat that will last you forever and that you can use in the coldest of conditions. I have an XL head and the XL fits me perfectly with some headroom. . Of course I don't have a lot of hair on top of my head (short cut) so take that into account. BUT keep in mind that this item is designed for very cold weather. I would use it for standing in frosty conditions. I wouldn't want to climb or run with this thing because I'd probably overheat. For that I would look at some of the lighter fleece hats from M-Tac. But they've made their naming convention very confusing, so finding the right fleece weight with the right specs can take a lot of searching. I would highly recommend this cap. One of my favourites.
