Extremely thin, barely functional

I bought this for my boyfriend as I love my own silicone bath glove and face scrub. He showers sometimes to get rid of his headaches, so I figured he'd enjoy a massage, but he dismissed it as a "gimmick". So I tested it myself, and unfortunately in this case it wasn't that far from the truth. While I still think the concept has its merits, this model is not very well made and poorly designed. The silicone itself is of poor quality, especially compared to the good silicones I use (may I add they are cheaper). Instead of being smooth and firm like mine, it feels sticky, almost sticky. Not only does it attract dirt like crazy (making it hard to clean), it's also too intangible to have any sort of cleaning ability. Silicone should be flexible enough, but that's gross. The central part of the base is a tiny piece of silicone that doesn't even come close to staying stable. It completely loses its shape with the slightest bump, meaning it's as inefficient as it is frustrating to use. The main side is completely useless because the bristles are terribly fragile but very long. They turn over when they touch something, so they don't rub so much as rub on the skin. There is no such thing as purification. I'm really amazed that they claim it's make-up remover. The massage side has many shorter bristles with thick enough bases to get the job done, but the overly pliable core prevents this most of the time. Maybe if they were attached to a more stable surface, or if the scrubber had a handle or something to hold on to so the whole thing didn't fold up like flatbread once the hand squeezed it, I could say it's just inefficient, not useless to use. However, this thing is a lot more trouble than it's worth. It's both poorly thought out and poorly implemented, so it's no wonder I don't recommend it.

Cons
  • Requires an outlet
