Review on 🏺 American Furniture Classics 22600 Glass Door Cabinet in White: Stylish Storage Solution with a Touch of Elegance by Linda Wiley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice, solid and worth the money but has flaws

Just assembled. Good things first: The device and its components are reliable. Composite wood is dense and real. The enamel coating lays evenly, although there are chips in places. The overall finished picture is beautiful. The instructions are clear, but it's important to pay attention to detail so you don't put the wrong pin in the wrong hole. Now for the bad: For those of us who care, packaging is an environmental nightmare! Lots of non-recyclable styrofoam to add to the waste stream. The cabinet doors are not centered on the unit as shown in the Revain image. Gap 7/16 inch. Although not visible on the surface, the doors are slightly offset vertically as the pilot holes in the hinge blocks are not fully drilled. The assembly instructions describe how to use a rubber mallet to nail the box back to the unit. Forget it! The wood is too dense and nails cannot be driven in. It's also nearly impossible to drive the nails in with a metal hammer (a nod to the hard composite), and you'll likely scratch the surrounding wood if you try. I gave up, pre-drilled pilot holes and attached the back with 1/2" pan head screws - don't even bother with nails.
