My wife bought me this Andobil Heavy Duty phone holder for thick phone cases after I was forced to return my Raxfly phone holder after it kept auto-detaching and dropping my phone on the floor So we have Andobil with the phone Tested by my wife as it has a thicker cell phone battery case. We rode 140 miles and it certainly held up. I thought this was finally the answer! No! This was made to work with thick phone cases, but not REALLY thick phone cases like my WIRELESS phone battery case (see image). We tried to hold my phone in a holder on a short 7 mile ride and it came loose twice and would have fallen if I hadn't caught it. I thought I'm going again, I have to bring it back! But then I thought that I probably won't find one that is much better! And then it dawned on me! Why not change and make it better?! Now Andobil had two main problems. While the side grips were almost as high as the thickness of my phone case, the foam sides were too smooth to securely grip and hold the phone. Second, the grips didn't bulge over the top of the phone case, allowing the phone to fall forward and out. I figured why not curve the side grips around the sides of the phone case. So I found a 3/4 inch piece of gray plastic electrical wire, cut a 1 inch section and sawed 3 pieces lengthwise giving me 3 crescents. shaped sections. I took two of these sections, sanded and rounded the corners, and sanded the surfaces for better glue and paint adhesion. I then glued each crescent shaped piece to an 1/8" overlapping handle and glued them using JB Weld JB Kwik. Two part epoxy (see photo) and left for an hour with a little bit. I then painted each crescent shaped piece black paint and then added 1/2 a small tubular grommet (1/8" wide) and 1" long under each crescent where it would curve over the body of the phone and act like a soft cushion. Holding power. I have it then installed in my car and let JB Kwik and liquid tape set overnight well the proof is in your hands I put my fat phone in the holder, drove 24 miles on twisty, hilly roads and speed bumps at 25 mph never moved!A simple mod solved the problem.Note for Andobil: This mod wouldn't be needed if you made the handles higher, curved at the end and added a non-slip pad!It would be that easy h during the manufacturing process!
