Basket weave has been used in law enforcement since the mid 1980's. Recently a friend who works at a local sporting goods store brought me a 511 1 1/2 black belt to try out. I liked that whatever I tied to the belt stayed in place, the belt didn't sag or sag over time like a leather belt. Talking to others who carry the same gear as me who have used the 511 for years, they swear by the 511. I wanted it a little wider for long range use and OD GREEN for uniform needs.
