I was looking for a deep pocket instead of a wide one. This bag is well made and well thought out. It closes with a zip at the top of the bag, has a small inner compartment with a zip and a padded inner pocket for a tablet or laptop. The bag measures just over 17 inches deep. I have a 17 inch keyboard that sticks out a bit so I can't close my bag but that's fine. The bag is also spacious enough to store other items. I wouldn't overload the bag, although there are 2 sets of rivets on the bag's handles. The leather bottom of the bag and the handles are beautiful. Inside, the bag is beautifully lined with a dark brown durable fabric that is neither flimsy nor flimsy. The bag is a little more than I originally planned to spend, but looking at the quality of the bag inside and out I feel like it's worth the extra $20-25. the bag has a certain weight because it has a good bottom and lining made of canvas and leather. I am happy with my purchase and think it is a stylish bag. I used this bag to carry my work gear to my place of work. He replaced a very thin nylon grocery bag with the logo of an organization I bought at a health fair. This bag looks much more professional! This bag is also good for weekend use. It can also be combined with everyday clothes. I'm small and the depth of the pocket is ok. Not too long to be weird or funny. I received the black canvas and the black is dark black and the brown leather bottom complements the bag perfectly. I love this bag very much.
