odor eliminator is considered (to me) a passive method of odor removal. The professional way would be to use the ozone generator at night and then air the facility the next day. But not everyone can afford it, which is why these little bags of carbon stuff come with it (I can only guess as I didn't want to break it up to explore). Carbon (if used) naturally absorbs contaminants (odors and liquid-related discomfort). So if you place them in an area where you want to smell fresher, you can use a fan to blow some wind around the area to give these packs more exposure to the air around them. According to the instructions, they should be exposed to direct sunlight. for 1 hour (I did this as you can see in my photos) and then hang or place them where you want them to smell the best and bam! - less smell.
