the case slipped off my table twice. I don't know why it won't sit evenly. The case itself gets pretty heavy with just a few little items. I don't know why it gains a lot of weight with a small amount of items inside it. It's not filled inside but feels like it is.I don't like the small size of the trays. the trays don't hold everything I wish they could. They hold 10 skinny brushes, or 4 small circular eyeshadows. basically one makeup look. If you're like me, and have an "everyday" look that you love to wear nearly all the time, this case is decent and not too disappointing. Because you may not use a huge variety of items just for your everyday look. I use 3-4 eyeshadow shades, mascara, 2 primers, powder foundation, liquid foundation, eyeliner, lashes, chapstick, and two lipgloss shades for my everyday look. They fit in the case but I do have other shades I wish could fit inside in case I want to switch it up in one placement.The overlapping mechanism is neat, but not automatic. I still have to manually move each tray out of eachother's ways whether I'm opening or closing the case. And overfilling the tray will cause it to not work at all, of course. The trays will move out of sync easily, and it scares me that they will never go back into place. I hate that I can't rely on the structure of this.I do love the look of the holder in its entirety. It sits pretty. I just hate the functionality. . It's only best to use if you don't actually use much makeup at all.
