It took me 7mm to wrap and join 3 bracelets, 2 anniversary bracelets and an engagement bracelet. It took about an hour to get this working at all, not the easiest for what I needed (3 strips, one size). All 3 straps were 1/2 size too big and I don't want to solder them.1. There are 3 "sections" of each size, I had to reduce 7mm to 2 sections because they don't curve very well and the rings didn't fit well so they kept popping out - it was a pain to 3 strips too fit together in 1 size. Also, both 7mm plastic pieces were awkwardly bent, as if flattened slightly in packaging.2. It was necessary, to use glue. The gauge is in no way attached to and does not hold the outside edges. it's just a U shape and not very deep. Adhesive strips take up too much space, had to switch to a smaller adhesive (3mm) and cut it in half just to hold the size in place long enough to put the rings and size on my finger. Of course the glue won't stick when it gets wet, it's just double sided foam rubber tape. I just hope it stays in place long enough to hold the ring and form the correct curve. It would be better if the side channels were deeper and could be trimmed.3. Now that it's on my finger it's comfortable, discreet, reduces the size of the ring by about 1/2-3/4 along with the plastic and foam. Worth trying for the price. Hope this lasts longer.
