This smallrig flashlight is fun! It has become the main source of colored light in my videos that I record for Youtube. Build Quality: This is one of the highest quality lights I've ever used, with solid metal construction and very high quality knobs and dials. The screen on the back is very easy to use and easy to read. As the light is used, the aluminum heats up slightly, signaling that it's doing its job of cooling the LEDs. Light Quality: I've been using this light for a while and it hasn't let me down once. Some of the things that make this small rig stand out are that it is very bright, has precise light output control down to 1% and never flickers. I haven't had a single time where this resulted in flickering crashes, which is great. Flicker is often seen in cheaper PWM controlled lamps. Also, being able to adjust the light in 1% increments is great, some others I've used only do 10% increments. General Use: The mounting options here are pretty good, with tripod mounting screws on either side. It could have been better but I didn't have much of a problem as I usually just mark something in its softbox. The flashlight comes with a small ball head which is very useful. It comes with a hot shoe mount, but you can remove it and use the bottom threads to mount it on a small tripod. Also included is a premium silicone soft box and lightweight mesh that fit together perfectly. I usually use a softbox, which does an excellent job of smoothing out the light. Finally, you can also charge with light, which is also a great feature. I would definitely pick one up again - the only downside is that it's a bit pricey.
