The hood is big enough for my new curves and actually looks like satin. I've ordered other hats that weren't even close to "satin" even though the description said so. I love the stripe around this hood. This is the same material as the hairband and is not strong enough to hold the hat in place. An added bonus was the satin scrunchie. It exceeded my expectations, lives up to the description (not the norm in my experience), the right headband, the way the headband holds it in place but doesn't pinch your head like rubber bands, and it's very roomy . to accommodate curves, fears, braids, etc. I love it!
