I bought these to take with me to Hawaii specifically for activities like hiking or kayaking when I wanted a swimsuit but not traditional swim shorts that fit. While I like the color and fit, I disagree with the "quick drying" description. After hiking and swimming in the waterfall, the way back was constantly wet ground. As such they are good for just wearing or to wear to the beach but I wouldn't swim with them and expect them to dry quickly. In terms of fit, I was very happy with how well they sit on my thighs without chafing. They were very comfortable and made of soft material.
